eMag Solutions Introduces New Non-native Data Restoration System
eMagNet retrieves data exponentially faster than traditional restoration methods, leading to faster turnaround and lower costs for e-discovery projects
Atlanta (December 5, 2005) - eMag Solutions, a leading international electronic discovery company, today announced its new non-native data restoration system, eMagNet. The eMagNet system uses a high-speed fiber-optic backbone to mesh together computer clusters dedicated to simultaneously restoring data from multiple tape drives. This constant and uninterrupted access removes the complexity of current backup formats at the point where the data is read from the tape, thereby removing unnecessary processing cycles and saving a tremendous amount of time.
"eMagNet ensures the tapes from which data is being restored are spinning at all times, constantly pulling information off the source media," explained Chuck Bokath, vice president of software development for eMag Solutions. "As a result, we have eliminated virtually all processing downtime, thus making the process of restoring data for discovery purposes faster and less expensive for our clients."
In addition, eMagNet integrates seamlessly with eMag's other proprietary data restoration applications, such as the Exchange™, Notes™ and GroupWise™ e-mail production engines, and immediately reports irregularities to eMag engineers so as to maximize production output."We are always looking for ways to re-engineer and streamline the electronic discovery process, and we believe eMagNet represents the next generation of non-native data restoration," said Brendan Sullivan, president and CEO of eMag Solutions.
