The Cowen Group Survey Reveals eDiscovery and Litigation Support Professional Salaries Held Steady in 2009
2009 Salary Study surveyed more than 400 litigation support and eDiscovery professionals at 100 major law firms; provides snapshot of industry compensation practices and trends.

New York (PRWEB) June 15, 2010 -- The Cowen Group Salary Study, now in its fifth year, surveyed more than 400 Litigation Support and eDiscovery professionals at 100 major law firms in order to provide a deep dive into industry compensation trends and our highly valued job descriptions for 2009/2010. Median Base Salaries for 2009 held steady:

• Analyst Median Base Salary: $67,500
• Specialist Median Base Salary: $91,000
• Project Manager Median Base Salary: $115,000
• Regional Coordinator Median Base Salary: $135,000
• National Manager Median Base Salary: $165,000
• Firmwide Director Median Base Salary: $267,000

The survey results held important information for job candidates and employers alike. With demand for litigation support and eDiscovery services expected to climb even more as the nation rebounds from the recession, employers will now be faced with the new challenge of not only finding and hiring key professionals – but also training and retaining them. In fact, David Cowen argues that “most top talent is looking to land at an organization that is committed to investing in professional development. This means training, mentorship, and a clear career path.”

“Because of the recent economic dynamics, we haven't seen much movement across firms and companies by professionals in these fields but this will undoubtedly change quickly,” Cowen said. “Hiring top talent was difficult before, and it will be even more difficult in the new landscape. Forward-thinking companies need to start considering how they are going to attract and retain these professionals when the competition increases.”
