Having Trouble reading old ARCserve™ formats?
A major pain in today's ever changing backup world is the support of legacy formats. As of December 19, 2003 CA have elected not to support ARCserveIT 6.61™ for Windows, ARCserve 2000™ for Windows, ARCserveIT 6.6™ for NetWare, ARCserve 7™ for NetWare and all related Options and Agents.
Unfortunately this is all too common in the backup market as software progresses, but where does that leave you? CA does say that they will continue to provide access to any online support documentation and patches via the web. You also have the option to upgrade of course. But if none of these solutions appeal to you, and you are faced with the issue of restoring your tapes, how will you access your data?
